Ripped Into The Headline

Hey blog world! The daily post gave me the idea to write a blog post as if it were the top story in our local newspaper! Something that had happened last week. I decided to give it a go! Here it goes!

Teen Girls Make The Most Grossest Smoothie Ever

Last Tuesday night, the older group of Girl Guides called the Rangers had their usual meeting every Tuesday night.

That night they were making smoothies at two of the Ranger’s house (both sisters).

Everybody was to get in groups and make their own and they’d taste and compare after they were all done! Everyone had to put the ingredients of the nutrient they were assigned (i.e. fibre, lactose free, protein, etc.)

There was this one group who had to use ingredients of protein. The teens in that group was 16 year old Emma, 16 year old Laura, and 15 year old Casey.

“As stupid as this sounds, we don’t know what fruits have protein in them. One of the ingredients turned out to be peanut butter.” says Emma.

After they blended their yogurt, milk, peanut butter, etc., Laura knew it was going to be bad.

Casey blended the stuff as if there was nothing wrong.

Everyone got their cups, and tried each group’s smoothie.

When it finally came to the protein smoothie, people found the smoothie to be really weird.

“It tasted like a peanut butter sandwich.” says Beth, one of the ranger leaders.

From what everybody had experienced, it was definatley the most weirdest and grossest smoothie ever!

Write your own personal experience that happened last week and write a news article about it! Have fun!

Aspergers

This is a post my friend made about her experiences with living with Autism. This is worth the read! Reading this will put you in the shoes of an Aspie.

Aspie Diaries

Hey blog world! At the age of 8 I was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome, a mild form of Autism. It’s the best thing that’s ever happend to me! It’s what makes me the special person that I am! At my music lesson today with Peter Halley we were talking about Aspergers. I was telling him what it was and some of the characteristics of it. That gave me the idea to make a blog post about it! With some help from Sheldon and Raj from “The Big Bang Theory” here is a look at Aspergers Syndrome.

We don’t get sarcasm: Understanding sarcasm, jokes and idioms doesn’t come easily to us. Like Sheldon we need sarcasm signs to tell when someone is being sarcastic! Also we take things literally. Once my Dad told me to hit the enter key on the coumpter and I made a fist and slammed it down…

Day at the mall

Hey blog world! I had a great day at the mall with my two BFFs Laura and Leah! We were there the whole day!

First off, we got our tickets to see Annie for 2:10 only to find out it was sold out as soon as we got in the line! Shucks! But that’s ok, we got tickets and waited for the one that played at 4:50! 🙂

To pass the time, me, Laura, and Leah headed to the food court at Dairy Queen and ate there. Then they made me throw their garbage away for them.

After that we were headed to the X Store until Leah spotted a few people she knew. And by a few, I mean A LOT. She spotted more and more people she knew the entire day! It was a coincidence for her! While me and Laura waited there was this kid playing in one of the rides that children play on and was making funny faces at us! LOL! A terrified lady was running around everyone, and I thought she said “Have you seen a child with a blue shirt?!” and I was right! I looked at the kid and he was wearing a blue shirt! Some other people ran after the mother and brought her back to the ride. She didn’t see him when she went past us! The mother was in tears and said “Thank you!” and it looked like that kid was in trouble! That kid was so lucky. Not everyone turns out to be lucky. Stranger danger!

Laura called out to me and told me to go into the X Store with her. She pointed out Olaf from Frozen in there and I picked it up right away! Olaf is my favorite character from Frozen and I just HAD to get him! Olaf is now watching me as I’m typing this! LOL!

We then went downstairs (don’t worry, we didn’t run off and forget Leah was there!) and Leah and Laura got a few DVDs in HMV. After that I went into Ardene and got myself lipgloss and a pair of socks. I was going to get a flamingo phone case but that was way to expensive and we were all broke on cash since we spent most of it!

Laura looked around in Cole’s bookstore and then me and Leah waited outside and chatted for a bit since we were already getting tired!

Time flew and next thing you knew we went into the lineup to see Annie! That movie was amazing by the way! 9.5/10! It was funny too! 😀

After the movie we waited for Leah’s parents to come and my parents brought Laura back to her house.

That was a long but fun day and I hope to do something like that again sometime with them!

School is back again on Monday, but that was a great end to the Christmas break! 🙂

Summer Memories 2014

Hey blog world! Summer is officially over, and school starts today! I’m going to tell you about my favorite memories of the summer!

* Going to Thomas Amusements with my BFFs Laura and Leah. It was so much fun!

* Going up to the cabin with my family!

* Going swimming with my dad!

* Going to Halifax with mom. Not as nice as where we live though 😛

* Camp counseling for two weeks! I had a fun time doing that stuff (my second year) and I’m going to apply again for one more year next summer!

* My second cousin Hunter being baptized. His dad’s (my cousin’s husband) side of the family is Anglican, so he is one too.

* Girl Guides District Camp 2014! I had so much fun there! Singing around campfires, scavenger hunts, etc., it was all fun!

* G.A.L. Program. It’s a summer program run by our city. Everyone had a fun time, we got to know each other, did things, such as bowling, yoga, and we couldn’t go doing stuff at Sunshine park since it was raining and we were stuck in the bunk bed room while another camp was watching the Hunger Games series. I might try it again next year too!

* Running club? Reason for the question mark was because everyone was nice and all, but the running was quite difficult. I don’t know if I’m gonna go back next year.

It only felt like yesterday I was writing the blog post on my plans for this summer! Time flies when you’re having a good time! I can’t believe I’m in grade 11! Good luck to everyone in the 2014-2015 school year! Stay in school!

Hope For The Future

Hey blog world! In this blog post I’m going to write about on what I want to do in the future!

After high school, I want to go to university.

I want to study to be a doctor (either a family doctor or speech therapist) because I’d like to help out other people and I like math and psychology.

I’d also like to be a part time dance teacher for a bit (I’d probably teach jazz, tap, and maybe modern) because I love dancing and maybe go back to my dance school to teach it someday! And if I have a daughter, I’m putting her into dancing lessons when she’s 4 or 5! 😛

And maybe also a photographer because I like taking pictures of scenic images that are pleasing to the eye. Yes, I take non scenic pics but that’s not what I’m talking about! 😛

I’d also like to travel to certain parts of the world (besides England and New York); like Russia, Australia, Hawaii, Brazil, Portugal, Spain, Norway, Greece, Ireland, somewhere up north of Canada, Indonesia, (maybe) China, and Morocco!

I hope to get married to a nice, caring, and respectful guy somewhere in my late 20’s or early 30’s.

And I hope to have 1-3 kids.

And I hope to live long enough to see my grandchildren.

What is your hope for the future? Tell me in the comments, or, write a blog post yourself about it!

District Camp 2014

Hey blog world! This weekend I was at a district camp for Girl Guides! There were sparks, brownies, guides, pathfinders, and us rangers! There were about 40-60 people in total. I’m going to mention on what happened!

First when I arrived there, I got my name tag and headed for the field and we put up our tents. There was about three to four to a tent. Everyone but the sparks and brownies camped outside (they slept inside).

Later on that night, we had a campfire and sung songs! We had smores and wieners. One kid (a brownie) told the story of the Click Clack Man. Not everybody heard the story but I happened to be near them. I heard about it before! It’s not real so go ahead and read.

Here’s the story

There was once a man who had no legs. He used his long finger nails to get around. If he was nearby, you would hear a “Click, clack…” sound. He murdered people who stayed out too late and those unlucky would have a horrible encounter with the Click Clack Man.

Once there was a girl who wanted to go to play at her friends’ house. Her mom said to come back by 6:00. That was the time the Click Clack Man would come out and look for victims.

The girl and her friend were having so much fun, they lost track of time. The girl looked and it was 6:15. She left her friend’s house and walked home.

As the girl was walking, she heard a click clack noise. She fastened her pace. The sound became closer and closer she made a run for it. The sound was gone for a bit. When she got home, she knocked on the door for her mother to open the door. No answer. The sound came back and got closer and closer.

“Mom! Open the door!”

When her mom woke up, she went to her front door and got the fright of her life.

Her daughter was laying in a pool of blood, and beside it was a note that read “You should have opened the door.”

That story was freaky! Especially since it was dark outside!

Another kid mentioned the Slenderman. I’ve heard about that before too. He is a tall man with no face, with tentacles, lives in the forest, and kidnaps children. I don’t think that’s real…I don’t think…

I told them another story. The ghost with bloody fingers. It’s worth a read. Go ahead!

There was a man playing his guitar one night. He lived alone. The man didn’t know the house was haunted.

A voice called “Bloody fingers, bloody fingers…”

He didn’t hear the voice.

“Bloody fingers! Bloody fingers!”

Still strumming away…

“BLOODY FINGERS! BLOODY FINGERS!”

The man heard the voice and screamed…

“If your fingers are bleeding, then get yourself some bandages!”

It was soon time for bed. The rangers could stay up for as long as they wanted to. I didn’t. I wanted a proper sleep and the latest I can stay up is 11:00. I don’t stay up late much.

The next morning I got woken up by a crow.

Sooner or later, we had to do a gate run. We had to run to the gate to see what the scoop was for the day, then get our breakfast.

For breakfast the first morning, was pancakes and bologna.

Then we got into two groups.

First we made tye-dye shirts! Mine wasn’t much but it had a pink and purple rose, and a heart in the middle!

Then, we went geocaching and had to follow directions given by a GPS and they lead us to Rocket candies and glow sticks!

Later on in the afternoon was a scavenger hunt in the woods (in my group we found most of the items on the list)! Followed by another craft where we made bags! I chose the colours of green and pink! Then we went back to the field to play a compass game. One of the leaders read out a story with the directions names’ and had to spin around if our direction was called out. Then we all had to move if “world” was mentioned.

A few of the brownies decided to play “What Time Is It Mr. Wolf?” afterwards. In that game there is a wolf whose back is turned to the ones who are not wolves at a far distance and the non wolves ask the wold what time it is, and whatever time the wolf says, they take that many steps. If the wolf calls out “Lunch time!” they have to run back home in order to not get caught, or else, they are wolves too. I played a few rounds and got to be the wolf once. Then I just decided to watch the rest.

For supper we cooked chicken and made a pizza! They tasted delicious!

The bonfire was earlier than the night before. It was at 8. We sung a few campfire songs and all.

Before I went to bed I helped clean the dishes.

Last night was probably the worst night of getting to sleep.

Some people were playing music a few houses nearby for a long time.

Second, a girl in my tent was snoring like crazy! It was super loud! Holy cow!

This morning I got woken up a squirrel! LOL!

We had egg McMuffins. We made our own.

Before we left, we grabbed our stuff and all that, I left a bit earlier than everyone else.

It was a fun weekend! Yes, I would go back next year! 🙂
